Alan Rickman is an extremely talented actor and director. He was born February 21st, 1946 in London, England.
While Alan loved acting, he originally went to university to acquire a degree in graphic design. Sadly for the world
of graphic design, but luckily for all of his fans, Alan later received a scholarship to the Royal Acadamy of Dramatic
Arts, where, amongst other dramatic studies, he studied Shakespeare's works. He is a fabulous Thespian actor, and while
his first Hollywood film role was in Die Hard as "exceptional thief" Hans Grueber, but his scene stealing role as
the Sheriff Of Nottingham in Kevin Costner's, "Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves" gained him incredible notoriety and
laughs, much to Costner's chagrin (he cut over half of Alan's scenes). However, he is perhaps best known lately
as the feared Potions Professor of Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, Professor Severus Snape.
